Technician I, II, III, Instrument & Electrical

Description:
Basic Function Inspects, troubleshoots, and maintains electrical power circuits and equipment, control and automation systems, electronic and pneumatic equipment used in gas and/or hydrocarbon storage, pipeline and compressor station operations, leach plant operations, and potential measurement facilities. Primary Duties and Responsibilities * Installs, inspects, maintains, operates, troubleshoots, repairs, calibrates and adjusts various pneumatic, hydraulic, electric and electronic devices. * Installs, programs, troubleshoots and repairs various Programmable Logic (PLC) controls. * Installs, programs, troubleshoots, repairs various SCADA equipment. * Perform preventative maintenance checks on compressors, pumps, drivers, and auxiliary equipment, including utilization of Lockout/Tagout Programs. * Performs Inspection and Maintenance (I&M) Compliance checks on all control systems and components. * Maintain electrical switch gear and power distribution systems up to and including 4160 VAC. * Install, analyze and maintain gas measurement systems (Ultrasonic/DP/Orifice) * Respond to emergency and operational needs whenever necessary. * Identify and report safety and environmental concerns. * Completes appropriate documentation and paperwork. Required Qualifications/Experience * Intermediate computer skills with MS operating system and current MS Office applications, and quick to learn other applications (i.e., company software). * Associates degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience. * Five years' work experience in instrumentation, electronics and control systems. * Working experience with low and high-pressure water pumps, electronic equipment, high pressure gas and processing equipment. * Experience preparing drawings of electrical circuits. * Working knowledge of National Electric Code and NFPA 70E * Experience reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical blueprints and diagrams. * Experience applying and interpreting results from common electrical measurement instruments (voltmeter, ammeter, ohmmeter, calibration instruments, etc.). Preferred Qualifications/Experience Experience with reciprocating engines and gas turbine engines and ancillary equipment. Knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquids and high-pressure systems. Knowledge/Experience with process controls and understanding of gas and liquid processing fundamentals. Experience with Rockwell Automation RS5000, RS500 and FTView Experience with GE iFix ISA CCST Certifications Required License * Valid driver's license and safe driver's record Physical Requirements * Lift and carry medium to heavy weight items. * Reach overhead for items, stoop, bend, and twist while working. * Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 50 pounds of force frequently. * Other physical activities include crouching, talking, hearing and performing repetitive motions. * Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision necessary to operate a computer. NOTES: The person in this position is required to work for extended periods of time in varied weather conditions. May be required to work periodically away from assigned location.
