Responsibilities As a Senior Risk Manager, you will:Inspire and empower a team of 2-5 vertical risk advisorsAdvise and consult with self-directed teams to help develop well-designed products, practices, and processesEstablish and maintain positive working relationships with product owners, process managers, compliance advisors, legal counsel, auditors, and other risk managersManage multiple tasks independently to meet deadlinesCoordinate work between multiple areas and engage in multiple work streams, simultaneously; leveraging/influencing business partners to drive outcomesEffectively work in non-linear space and bring structure to deliver on our well-managed agendaOversee risk event remediation impacting customers stemming from process breakdowns or other problems and develop permanent corrective actionsSupport second line of defense assurance reviews, internal audits, and regulatory exams General Qualifications Successful Senior Risk Managers in our culture are:Innovative, adaptive, and inclusiveExceptional verbal and written communicatorsAble to blend strategic and tactical thinking and creative and analytical reasoningCreative, outside-the-box thinkers who have a customer-backed problem-solving approachAble to identify themes and apply learnings in highly ambiguous contextsCollaborative, team players with the ability to navigate and influence organizationsPassionate about continuously learning Basic Qualifications At least 3 years of financial services risk management experienceAt least 7 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clientsAt least 2 years of people leadership experience Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree5+ years of experience in risk management, financial services, technology, or product management3+ years of people leadership experienceProfessional certification (CFE, CRM, CIA)At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.Capital One offers a comprehensive, competitive, and inclusive set of health, financial and other benefits that support your total well-being.
