About the Position As a Product Manager specializing in Commercial Auto, you are a technical expert pivotal to our company's growth within the National Programs underwriting team. This role demands a deep understanding of advanced underwriting techniques and strong technical acumen in utilizing underwriting software, predictive modeling, and other assessment tools. You will work closely with program underwriting, claims, risk control, and actuarial teams to drive profitable growth and enhance underwriting best practices across the nation. What Youll Do We have an exciting opportunity for a Product Manager, Commercial Auto to join our team, responsibilities include: Strategy Development and Oversight: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement robust underwriting policies, guidelines, multi-dimensional segmentation, and pricing strategies leveraging advanced technical tools. Oversee underwriting of new and renewal business, ensuring strict adherence to company guidelines and standards using sophisticated underwriting software and predictive models. Policy and Compliance Management: Direct and monitor application of underwriting policies and pricing, utilizing advanced tools for detailed audits of company files. Lead development and revision of underwriting policies to strengthen risk management frameworks, ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Operational and Technical Excellence: Work alongside actuaries, carrier filing team, operations team, and senior management to refine underwriting processes, ensuring adoption of accurate rates and forms through advanced underwriting software and predictive modeling. Utilize and enhance the LOB-specific Predictive Model system to improve portfolio management, focusing on Dashboard and KPIs enhancement. Product and Market Alignment: Regularly review pricing, underwriting policies, and risk segmentation to maintain alignment with market conditions and company objectives, utilizing technical tools for accurate assessments. Manage large account referral underwriting and strategize on development of short and long-term products and programs. Mentorship and Development: Mentor program managers and underwriters, imparting technical knowledge and experience to cultivate a highly skilled and effective program underwriting team. What Were Looking For Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., CPCU, ARM, AU) are highly preferred. Minimum of 15+ years of experience in commercial auto insurance underwriting, with significant expertise in managing staff and/or portfolios. Demonstrated capability to implement and manage both fundamental and advanced underwriting practices, particularly leveraging underwriting software and predictive modeling. Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in evaluating complex data for informed underwriting decisions. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with, mentoring, and influencing others.
