Firm is willing to train attorneys. This is a great opportunity for new attorneys. The ideal candidate will eventually be responsible for handling a high volume of motion and pre-trial work, including drafting and responding to discovery and motions, taking and defending depositions, and preparing for trial.Job Overview:Handling civil litigation matters from inception to resolutionDrafting and responding to discovery and motionsTaking and defending depositionsConducting legal research and analysisCommunicating with clients and attorneysManaging case information in the case management systemEnsuring compliance with legal standards and regulations, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)Duties:Drafting and responding to discovery requests and motionsConducting legal research and analysis to support case strategyTaking and defending depositions of witnesses and expertsPreparing clients and witnesses for depositions and hearingsAttending hearings and court appearances on behalf of clientsManaging case calendars and deadlinesCommunicating with clients, opposing counsel, and other partiesMaintaining accurate and organized case files and documentsEnsuring compliance with all legal standards and regulations, including the FDCPARequirements:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolAdmission to the State Bar of California in good standingExperience in civil litigation, preferably in a high-volume environmentStrong attention to detail and excellent organizational skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and work under pressureExcellent written and verbal communication skillsFamiliarity with basic state and federal collection laws, including the FDCPA, is a plusMust be in good standing with the American Bar Association (ABA)Certifications:Admission to the State Bar of CaliforniaSkills:Proficiency in legal research and analysisStrong analytical and critical thinking skillsAbility to work independently and in a team environmentFamiliarity with civil litigation proceduresExcellent communication and interpersonal skills
