Working/Functional Title Reuse and Recycling Assistant Position Summary The starting hourly rate for this position is $19.22, with an increase to $20.23 after successful completion of a six-month probationary period. Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills One year experience in a recycling, surplus or related operation. Working knowledge of the tools, equipment and processes used in recycling or surplus operation. Attainment of the appropriate Michigan commercial operator's license. Possession or attainment of an MSU forklift operator's permit prior to the completion of the applicable probation or trial period. Frequent lifting of 26 to 75 pounds and occasional lifting of over 75 pounds. Valid vehicle operator's license and maintain eligibility to drive MSU vehicles. Desired Qualifications Experience or demonstrated interest in recycling or sustainability; customer service experience; previous experience with reselling used items or working in a resale business; ability to interact with, relate to, and work with college personnel and the public.
