Summary We are looking for a temporary research assistant on the National Neighborhood Data Archive, to assist in updating our Voter Registration, Turnout, and Partisanship dataset under the direction of Lindsay Gypin and Dr. Philippa Clarke in the Social Environment and Health (SEH) program at the University of Michigan?s Institute for Social Research. Project work is expected to conclude in Fall 2024. Responsibilities* The research assistant is needed to assist with identifying new and updated data sources, writing dataset documentation, data curation and management, and creating infographics and data visuals. In addition, the research assistant will meet with the Data Project Manager and other stakeholders weekly to discuss project progress. Required Qualifications* Successful candidates will have a background in research data management, data curation, and information. Ability to find, download, and manipulate tabular data. Advanced Microsoft Office Skills (especially Microsoft Excel). Basic OpenRefine, Stata, R, or Python skills. Detail oriented. Proficiency with Zotero, EndNote or another citation management software. Ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders. Strong communication and writing skills. Desired Qualifications* Graduate coursework in library and information science or a similar field. Work Schedule 5-10 hours per week, including some hours M-Th 10am-3pm EST.
