Contract type: Variable Hours (hourly paid), Permanent Location: Cardiff University International Study Centre Salary: up to £32.28 per hour (DOE) JOB OVERVIEW Are you passionate about biology and dedicated to sharing your knowledge with others? We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Biology Tutor to join our team. As a Biology Tutor, you will have the opportunity to inspire and educate students, helping them to excel in their understanding of biological concepts and achieve their academic goals. Cardiff International Study Centre (ISC) is a new and exciting development, launched in September 2020. You would be working in a culture of enhancing learning, teaching and backssment through a developmental approach, which for you will mean autonomy, innovation, and development opportunities. You will teach Biology and/or Chemistry modules during the International Foundation Year (level 3). You will play a key role by contributing to the development of teaching materials and formative backssment. You will empower students to reach the level they need to progress into university by providing student-centred, engaging, and innovative learning. You’ll undertake marking and feedback on formative and summative backssments. ABOUT THE ROLE Contribute to the delivery and development of modules and teaching sessions offered by the Cardiff ISC Prepare and deliver teaching sessions, with a maximum teaching load of up to 25 hours per week. The specific number of taught hours is subject to operational needs and will be discussed with successful candidates. Prepare module tests and other forms of formative and summative backssments Mark students’ formative and summative backssments submissions and provide timely feedback to students on their performance, including writing regular student reports and tutorials Develop and update course material for modules and teaching sessions, including module material for the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) Work with.
