The candidate will work under the supervision of an intellectual property partner, providing support to the practice group while assuming significant client responsibilities. They will focus on protecting inventions, preparing and prosecuting patent applications, conducting prior art searches, and engaging in IP due diligence. Duties:Prepare, file, and prosecute patent applications before the US Patent and Trademark OfficePerform prior art searches and analysisConduct patentability analysisAssist in IP due diligence processesEngage in practice development activities to build and maintain client relationshipsPrepare substantive client correspondenceInstruct local counsel for foreign filings and Office ActionsAssist in patent clearance studies and other patent-related opinion projectsConvert provisional applications into utility applicationsConvert foreign filed applications into U.S. applications and vice versa Requirements:Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office or eligible to sit for the USPTO patent agent examBachelor’s degree (or graduate degree) preferably in electrical engineering, computer science, physics, computer engineering, or mechanical engineering2+ years of experience prosecuting or examining patent applications in the electrical arts, preferably display and battery technology and optics Skills:Excellent writing and research abilitiesProficiency in written and verbal communicationStrong organizational skillsAbility to apply advanced concepts in any life sciences field, particularly in molecular biology, cell biology, and biochemistry This law firm offers comprehensive legal services for all of the major industries.
