HSE Administrator/Specialist

Mission The HSE Specialist is responsible for supporting local management in applying existing and continuously improving the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) culture within the worksite. Information This position is 8-hour days, typically 8A-5P. There is flexibility on working hours which will be agreed upon with manager. Overtime is available. None to minimal travel necessary. Manufacturing environment with wide range of equipment, processes, and activities. Responsibilities Implement and improve HSE procedures and policies, ensuring they are an integral part of operations. Our goal is for everyone to go home safe every day Educate and provide guidance on HSE procedures and policies to employees, line management, contractors, and visitors Collaborate with employees, line management, and contractors, to ensure practical application of HSE programs and policies. Perform risk assessments, generating and assisting with relevant documentation such as JSA, SWI, checklists, procedures, etc. Monitor compliance to programs, policies, procedures, conduct audits to company standards and regulatory laws and requirements, etc. Coordinate and participate in training of personnel, including contractors Train employees to company HSE certifications Ensure that HSE documentation is updated and available onsite Support line management in investigations of failures and accidents, assist in determining root causes and corrective actions needed Maintain a high level of HSE awareness among personnel through communication, training and promoting involvement in HSE programs. Analyze HSE trends for the location Other duties as assigned by manager Experience & Skills 5 or more years prior HSE related experience (prior position as company HSE Specialist, Emergency Medical Services, etc.) Ability to communicate effectively with people from a wide variety of backgrounds, technical ability, and experience levels, in a variety of settings from one-on-one to company-wide meetings Ability to coach and provide guidance to same people Ability to recognize deficiencies, come up with practical solutions, and implement those solutions as agreed Ability to work with minimal oversight once project or task is assigned, or on a team Ability to interpret standards, requirements, guidelines (both company and regulatory) Ability to efficiently use Office applications including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc. a necessity. Familiarity with other applications such as Flow, Forms, Power Apps a plus. Experience with environmental regulatory requirements a plus Experience with industrial hygiene a plus Knowledge of regulatory occupational requirements (OSHA) a plus Experience with working in manufacturing environment a plus Position related degree a plus Experience with emergency response a plus SLB is an equal employment opportunity employer.
