Job Summary: The Float LPN is responsible for assisting the Provider in direct patient care. The Float Nurse is responsible for traveling to various SeMRHI health centers to provide direct patient care at the request of the Director of Nursing. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with staff, patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs. Job Responsibilities: Effectively delivers direct patient care under the supervision of the provider Prompt in returning the examination rooms to proper order after each patient Prepares patients in a timely and appropriate manner Demonstrate the ability to access and assist patients in emergency situations Keep the exam rooms and lab neat, clean organized ad stocked with necessary supplies Effectively teaches and documents patient education Documents complete an accurate vital signs Adequately documents information in the medical record Adequately assesses patients according to symptoms Prompt in following provider orders Returns patients phone calls in a timely manner Understands and assists with the recall and follow up procedures Prepares reports and follows up as necessary Demonstrate flexibility in job duties Demonstrate appropriate documentation in the EMR Possesses the knowledge to operate clinical equipment Demonstrate a caring and compassionate attitude toward patients and staff Effectively communicate with the provider Adhere to infection-control policies using universal precautions at all times and PPE as appropriate Anticipates and prepares supplies needed for procedures to expedite patient care Demonstrates proficiency in performing n-house testing Assist with medical record scanning as needed Maintains prompt and regular attendance Verify timecard at the end of each pay period Performs related work, as assigned Job Requirements : Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Demonstrate knowledge and skills in the administration of their duties in addition to performing phlebotomy Current Mississippi Board of Nursing License Current CPR Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association Must have a valid Mississippi Driver's License Knowledge of basic clinical operations Demonstrates skills in written and oral communication, ability to comprehend and perform duties with minimal supervision Ability to prioritize work and accept constructive criticism Ability to prepare reports and follow-up as necessary Physical and Other Requirements : Continuously listen, visualize and provide emotional, psychological support to patients and their families Frequently sit, squat, reach, use both right and left forearm rotation and walk Occasionally kneel, twist, have ability to grasp firmly, lift and carry, push and pull in excess of 20 lbs
