Department Employment Services Reports to Employment Services Manager Terms of Employment Full-time - Permanent Closing Date December 21, 2023 Mission Statement Staff of the Regina Open Door Society (RODS) must operate at all times within the mandate of service to provide settlement and integration services to refugees and immigrants in Regina. RODS is committed to meeting the needs of newcomers by offering programs and services to enable them to achieve their goals and participate fully in the larger community. Position Summary The position's primary responsibility is to assist our newcomer clients in achieving their employment- oriented goals by providing one-on-one employment counselling. In these counselling sessions, you will backss the client employment readiness and facilitate them in employment search, career planning, developing and enhancing of self-marketing tools, and soft skills required in the Canadian workplace setting. Based on the client's employment goals, you will also refer them to the other programs conducted in the department. In addition, you will prepare program reports for management and funders. Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Adult Education, Social Services, or other related fields Training and experience in employment counselling and instruction including development of employment-related workshops/trainings Well-developed interpersonal and relationship-building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with staff, clients and employers Experience and sensitivity in working with newcomers to Canada, including those with limited English language skills Strong technological skills (Microsoft Suite, Google Workspace, Google Classroom, SMART Boards, Databases and online communication platforms) Excellent communication, collaboration and organization skills Proven accountability, resourcefulness, initiative, and professionalism Ability to research, identify and develop content suitable.
