Location of classes: North Campus Course Start Date: January 8, 2024Course End Date: April 26, 2024Reporting to the Dean of the Faculty of Business and IT, the Sessional Lecturer provides instruction to Undergraduate students in XBIT 4500U - Capstone Study Project The current schedule is: Tuesdays - 5:10 PM - 8:00 PM(This schedule is subject to changes) Responsibilities/Accountabilities: The primary responsibility of the applicant is to develop and teach relevant course materials through lectures, the evaluation of assignments, quizzes, exams, etc. managing the course using Canvas Learning Management System by posting course materials, student grades, assignments etc. marking and the supervision of teaching assistant(s) (if assigned to give marking assistance or run tutorials) at the university level within the parameters of the course description listed above. The successful candidate will also make themselves available for consultation with students during and following completion of the course session. This position falls within the bargaining unit represented by the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) and will be subject to the terms and conditions of the collective agreement between the University and PSAC. The collective agreement may be found on the Human Resources section of our website. Candidates will be required to certify that they are currently legally eligible to work in Canada for the duration of the contract. Qualifications: In addition to the Required Education, Required Skills, and Required Experience set out below, the successful candidate will have a proven aptitude for teaching at the undergraduate level, with demonstrated potential for making excellent contributions to teaching. The candidate must also be able to teach and supervise students in an experiential learning course dealing with industry partners.
